Main objectives of the project

Andrew

  • Discussion:

  • Pose the question: “How are deepfakes, synthesized humans, and Generative AI affecting IDPV systems and processes?”

  • Q: Are regulators included in our stakeholder audience? (yes)

    • Regulators want inputs from private sector

    • Should outputs be directed to regulators in early phases?

  • There’s more to the topic beyond ID Verification - need to differentiate this from the authentication (of returning human)

  • FINCEN ran a tech sprint about: “What makes a remote identity verification ‘good’ “? FINCEN regulates financial institutions for this - regulators want more information about this.

  • Must increase level of understanding about these topics - overall low level

    • Must decide on our audience and at what project stage to address different audiences

    • Must use many different media types and approaches to best communicate the messages effectively

Overall project structure/schedule

(i.e. 3x 90 day segments Discover-Create Content-Refine)

Andrew

Discover phase idea:

  • get links to articles, publication, talks/videos about the subject

  • Prepare and brief the DG on these topics (teach each other)

  • Identify key themes

  • Prepare repository of reference material

Discussion

  • Maybe add a research/analysis phase; Reduce Discovery to 2 months; 4 months for writing; add Outreach phase; marketing;

  • Approach: are we going to do primary research/interviews? or secondary on published material?

  • Should avoid regurgitation of much of published material - much speculation (and in fact, it’s a reason to have this DG in the first place!)

    • Work towards describing what is coming, not just what has already happened - some prediction needed
