DRAFT CHARTER SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVISION AND APPROVAL
(1) WG NAME (and any acronym or abbreviation of the name): The WG name, acronym and abbreviation must not include trademarks not owned by the Organization, or content that is infringing, harmful, or inappropriate.
Japanese Language Japan Work Group (JL-Japan WG)
(2) PURPOSE: Please provide a clear statement of purpose and justification why the proposed WG is necessary.
The Japanese Language Japan Work Group is responsible for:
Promoting the education and adoption of NewOrg deliverables in the Japanese market and government
Generating best practice guidelines ,and suggestions and technical recommendations that feed into appropriate NewOrg Work Groups to make NewOrg deliverables better suited to thrive in the Japanese market environment
To accomplish this goal Japanese Language Work Group shall
Provide NewOrg with subject matter expertise with respect to private and public sectors of Japanese market
Become a discussion forum for Japan-specific aspects of the NewOrg
Where appropriate, take part in the identification, planning, execution and follow-up of Japan industry events
Where appropriate, plan and execute Japan-focused NewOrg Web castsseminars
Collect inputs for NewOrg communications, such as collateral materials and contributed articles
Provide NewOrg with spokespersons on Japan-related topics related to the NewOrg vision.
Interaction with relevant Work Groups for content creation, maintenance, publication and distribution of materials. Potential Japanese related support for PR activities, analyst relations, developer activities and events management.
(3) SCOPE: _Explain the scope and definition of the planned work.
_Specific Objectives and/or Deliverables of Japanese Language Work Group shall include:
1. Translation of selected NewOrg deliverables and press releases into the Japanese language.
2. Support for planning and execution of NewOrg events in Japan
3. Producing Japan related documents (such as translations, case studies, white papers and guidelines)
(4) DRAFT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: List Working Titles of draft Technical Specifications to be produced (if any), projected completion dates, and the Standards Setting Organization(s) to which they will be submitted upon approval by the Membership.

(5) OTHER DRAFT RECOMMENDATIONS: Other Draft Recommendations and projected completion dates for submission for All Member Ballot.

Kantara Initiative Leadership Council charters the Japanese Language Work Group for five years. It may be amended from time to time, with changes approved by the Leadership Council. This charter will expire on <INSERT DATE>.
(9) IPR POLICY: The Organization approved Intellectual Property Rights Policy under which the WG will operate.

(10) RELATED WORK AND LIAISONS: Related work being done in other WGs or other organizations and any proposed liaison with those other WGs or organizations.
(11) CONTRIBUTIONS (optional): A list of contributions that the proposers anticipate will be made to the WG.
(12) PROPOSERS: _Names, email addresses, and any constituent affiliations of at least the minimum set of proposers required to support forming the WG.
