The Identity Assurance Work Group (IAWG) of the Kantara Initiative is:
- the focal point for Kantara Initiative Identity Assurance Framework (IAF) management and evolution;
- a forum for communicating the state of play of the global federated online identity services marketplace to and from Kantara stakeholders;
- the deliberative body for determining applicability of the Kantara Initiative assurance program to regional, national or international trust framework schemes;
- and, the analysis team which ensures the Kantara Initiative IAF and Service Assessment Criteria (SAC) satisfy the requirements of the regional, national or international trust framework schemes.
The IAF encompasses the framework, processes, criteria and program assurance specifications and tools by which identity federation service providers and their assessors are measured. The IAF defines the operational parameters and rules of the Kantara Initiative Identity Assurance Assessment and Approval Program.
