DT colleagues are active in 3GPP SA3 (dealing with security). From different sides there are requirements for e.g. SSO in IMS. Some people say that this is a job for SA3. The SA3 guys say that they are specialized in security issues, but not that much in identity management and SSO.

Should SA3 do it by them selfself’s or should an independent organization drop in their SSO specs.

I think that this organization could be Kantara. Why?
1. Liberty Alliance history – “mother of SSO”
2. The TelcoWG describes SSO for IMS in its Whitepaper (its not a spec but these guys have an idea)
3. One of our next steps in TelcoWG is to discover IdM gaps in different standards.
In fact 3GPP asks for help in exactly this regard.

This is the type of project or collaboration KI was created for. We could host in KI either as part of TelcoID WG or by spinning their own group. Any of these options are good and KI could support. Check with 3GPP and/SA3 to understand their thoughts.
