DRAFT SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVISION AND APPROVAL

(1) Discussion Group Name

...

The goal of the ICU-DG is to provide a means for Kantara Initiative participants to the extended, global Identity Community to easily remain up to date with the status of tracked various identity projects.  There are a number of projects that, for various reasons, are not visible enough to Kantara Initiative participants, let alone the wider community.  The projects will be identified and tracked by the ICU-DG which will release updates as a weekly podcast series tentatively titled the "Identity Matters Podcast: A Kantara Initiative".

Activities of the ICU-DG include:

  • Weekly podcasts (three per month) of recorded interviews about specific tracked projects.
  • Monthly podcast of a teleconference in which participants provide short updates on various tracked projects.
  • RSS feed of blog posts highlighting tracked projects and associated links referenced in each podcast.

NOTE: The ICU-DG is not intended as a forum for doing work on the tracked projects or debating their merits per se, but rather as a mechanism for quickly and easily sharing update reports-related projects that are within as well as external to Kantara Initiative.  The ICU-DG invites participants of the identity projects and industry experts to join the ongoing discussion within the framework of publicly-available podcast series.

The ICU-DG podcast series will include:

  • Discussions about the various identity-related projects by their participants as well as analysts, developers, and deployers.
  • Periodic updates on the Kantara Initiative projects and related events.
  • Blog posts associated with each podcast episode that include summaries, related information, and referenced links.
