4. Mind Map – Reqs for Telcos in IdM Space

Offer authentication for SPs, there is an idea to accept third party authentication from other IdPs.

Telco could be a natural partner for relying parties for the IdP card.

What can the telco offer and how could they offer it?  There are several ways to position the IdP. Are there APIs to use as an identity service as there are general requirements.  SIM card is authenticated and more.

Ingo to work on edits to his slides for the reqs.

Telco ID WP Usage of IDM Frameworks v0.2

5. ICIN pitch overview – presented in Berlin Oct. 20.

Prior comments were provided and some new comments that will be incorporated into the WP.

6. IMS WP overview

ICIN edits, comments and other submissions made real time on Oct. 21.

7. Network APIs

State-of-the-art on Telco’s APIs – identify how to improve the current situation.

OOPen IPTV forum needs to be added. Some conclusions should be drawn.

8. SOAP REST Harmonisation

The study = harmonization between REST and SOAP.

Is it RESTful service or API?
GSMA – 2 bindings; SOAP and RESTful
API given to person developing service, 3rd party makes application using SMS, uses GSMA 1 API - can use in two ways, SOAP or RESTful – it’s not obvious how it should be.  ID-WSF is recommended but difficult to implement and deploy, needs to be stripped down and handled differently. See presentation here.

10. Joni Brennan and TI Synch Up

Joni spoke about the importance and possibilities for Telcos with trust FWs. Keeping aligned with trust frameworks model – allow federation to interoperate (not needed on all technical levels).

Important for other telcos to identity what they want and are interested in.

North American charter is available for us to reference their frameworks (which include law enforcement, etc.).  Telco take as intro, look at U.S. use cases, do these cases apply for Europe/Scandanavian telcos?  Analyse, are they different, do they apply?  Look at the charter for ISO group.

See presentation here.

11. ULX and TI Synch Up

ISA work via ULX WG and how it relates to the telco – how to structure IdPs. See presentation here.

12. Next F2F Meeting

Next F2F meeting is proposed for December 2010 in Madrid.
