Discussion

NSTIC Report

Ken attended,  reported slow forward progress.

Seems to still be process over product.

Financial Services seem to be paying more attention than in the past.

Attribute flows and refactored diagrams

Ken spoke about the new docs,  on ScalePriv, on the page near the bottom.  Slides are : https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/scalepriv/Scalable+Privacy+Home

Privacy group at IDESG "went out to lunch",  but was presented to an interested group anyway.  Liked the flows, and the poem!

Questions about "Informed Consent" and a workable definition around this term.

  • Eve Maller
  • WAYF Danish Website

Discussion also about EU Privacy Directive. Code of Conduct.

Consent should only be used if it is actually an optional negotiation.  If it is required, it should simply be continue.

Back to the EcoSystem Slide deck,  Slide 23  "Characteristics of Meta-Flows"

Discussion around tagging MetaFlows...

  • Is Attribute LoA included in Trust?
  • Allowed to deliver Attribute
  • Freshness of Attribute

Are all trust mechanisms the same?

Next Steps:  ABCs of trust for next call.
