Minutes
- Discuss possibilities for working with the US government's Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) project on consumer identity issues.
Level of assurance 1, government working with KI, Open ID, ICF. In the interest of Consumer identity, we are interested in higher identity assurance. Bob reached out to colleagues in the community Judith Spencer, Peter Alterman, Don Rhoades and proposed solution to level 3 credentials - bank account holders could receive level 3 credentials issued by a consortium acting as the IdP. Government in the past hinted they could provide seed money, now this is questionable. The financial services industry do not declare a specific need. What could this group do for the Government to help with the higher assurance? Does the financial industry require this? FSISAC would be interested to help but needs funding. PayPal is an IdP for the financial industry, they might have an interest.
