Incommon Baseline Expectations for Trust in Federations is now in effect: 

  • 45 statements for IdPs, RPs and Federation Operators, which guides the baseline for trust not just assurance, among and between parties. 
  • It includes mandatory completion of basic trust elements and metadata user interface.
  • Incommon changed the legal agreement to support these baseline expectations. They provided 90 days notice to meet the baseline in June 15th.

Kantara Identity Assurance Working Group (IAWG) Report provided by Scott Shorter 

  • NIST 800-63-3 Implementation Guidance: IAWG has been discussing 3 memos containing implementation guidance with respect to interpreting the NIST 800-63-3 requirements at AL2, Guidance on Permitting “Commodity” Hardware for Unsupervised Remote Identity Proofing; Guidance on Selection of Authoritative Sources; Using the Public Service Description to Convey Critical Service Details.The plan is to share the memos to this group for consideration in the next Sync.   • Refreshing some IAF Controlling Documents, such as the Overview and Glossary documents. 
  • Developing Assessor Accreditation Handbook.
