...

  • some struggle with scope, works for people "in the know"
    • AI: JoAnne Joanne to mark up wiki or send HF email regarding what areas are difficult for someone not embedded in the conversation
  • modification of AI 20111108-04, for HF to make sure that the eGov requirements are represented in the report
  • are we talking about contents or containers when discussing attributes? there is a lot of work at the federation identity level to answer this question, and different protocols approach it differently
  • feedback on Recommendations
    • attributes - tying it to real people with LoA, which in turn ties back to Governance
    • governance - different sectors are doing this, so we have examples in action; UMA should be part of governance, and they are working to fill the gap in user management part of governance
    • Kantara could vet the work coming out of the different groups to make sure it all applies broadly; the specific sector groups don't have a wide-enough view to really see how their would can or cannot scale; in general there is a need for someone to provide assurance around attributes, and since Kantara has assurance around identity this could be a good fit; if OIX is looking to be where an exchange of these things, they can't also be in the business of auditing and assuring these things; at some point we'll need to describe how to do LoA on attributes and there are repository references to this work, but there is no functioning accreditation effort yet
    • context - create a discussion group to describe what contexts might be and how they might be used; characterizing them and registering/exposing them, a value needs to be put on context; you might be able to capture more of the liabilities and risk if you know the context
    • Query Language is more like an OASIS or W3C thing than a Kantara thing; too technical for Kantara; it plays out here but is not in our mandate
    • part of context, perhaps - Mapping the Attribute Ecosystem: technological and sociological - environmental survey of groups and activities in attribute management space (there are dozens at least) and we know about most; can we go to each of those groups and come back with a 1 paragraph description of where they fit in the attrib mgmt space, where they are orthogonal or overlapping; this should be a prerequisite to the attribute LoA work
  • we're trying to see if Attribute Management can actually exist, not discuss what you could do with it
