The purpose of this Kantara DG is to initiate a broad discussion on various aspects of smart contracts and blockchain systems. The DG launched on July 5, 2016 and intends to meet for six months, delivering a briefing note at the end of that time that answers these questions:

- What is CommonAccord
- What are the kinds of contracts that have "smarts"
- Use cases for the above
- Issue identification and analysis for the above
