This is the home of the Privacy and Public Policy Work Group.

This group is focused on the interplay between privacy, technology and policy, and aims to ensure that the Kantara Initiative ("Kantara") contributes to better privacy outcomes for users, data custodians and other stakeholders. The group will seek to engage with a diverse range of privacy stakeholders, understanding their different perspectives, translating/mediating between them as necessary, and documenting privacy-related principles and good practice applicable to a broad range of prevalent technology platforms. Read the full charter.

New to the Work Group? Please make sure you review, and are comfortable with, the Charter and IPR Policy (both linked to above), and the following short documents from the ISTO about Anti-Trust Guidelines.

  • ISTO Anti-Trust Guidelines (Dec 2008) - 2-page summary explaining implications for Kantara meetings.
  • ISTO Anti-Trust Guidelines (Mar 2007) - 9-page backgrounder giving context for ISTO's position on anti-trust measures.

Please also note that the WG's mailing list (wg-p3(AT)kantarainitiative(DOT)org) is an open list and is archived. Therefore, please only use the mailing list for information which you wish to put, essentially, into the public domain.
