DG-BCTF Charter

This charter was approved by Leadership Council Secretary on November 22, 2010.

(1) DISCUSSION GROUP NAME:
The DG name, acronym and abbreviation must not include trademarks not owned by the Organization, or
content that is infringing, harmful, or inappropriate. The below is just a suggestion.

Business Cases for Trusted Federations Discussion Group - BCTF-DG

(2) DISCUSSION TOPIC/PURPOSE/MOTIVATION:
The purpose of this discussion group is to identify and raise awareness of business cases around the
deployment and adoption of federation models and systems - particularly the Trust Framework model.

This group will gather input from International stakeholders ---specifically, actors from within vertical and
jurisdictional communities of trust--- with the purpose of allowing participants to share information about
successful and challenging experiences with specific focus on the business drivers and motivations for
deploying federations and the Trust Framework model.

(3) LEADERSHIP:
Proposed DG Chair subject to confirmation by a vote of the DG Participants.

Rainer Horbe has volunteered to be the convenor of this Discussion Group. Continued leadership will be
identified at the launch of the Discussion Group.

(4) AUDIENCE:
Anticipated Participants in this DG.

The audience for this Discussion Group includes all actors and members of communities that are seeking to
build trust through Federation and Trust Framework Model deployment.

(5) COPYRIGHT POLICY:
The Organization approved Intellectual Property Rights Policy to cover any copyright material that may be
produced as a result of DG 'Participants' posts to the wiki or email archives.

(6) PROPOSERS:
Names, email addresses, and any constituent affiliations of at least the minimum set of proposers required
to support forming the DG. At least 3 Kantara Initiative Participants are required to request formation of a
DG.
