Meeting Minutes:
- Item 1: Specifications for Consent Receipt
- iainh1 NA (Unlicensed) and Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) started working on this on Tuesday, seeking to develop specifications aimed at dissemination through iainh1 NA (Unlicensed)'s website
- Former user (Deleted) suggested that specification by example will be the best way to move forward, as a prototype will help potential users understand the project and technologists to develop it
- Consent Receipt request available here: One Party: Consent Receipt Request (CRR) Research Outline Draft v.1 and Consent Receipt Request Instructions - California Draft
- Former user (Deleted) suggests that it will take a week minimum to draft basic specifications with a skilled editor
- Action Point: Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) aims to have draft completed by 13 May
- Ad-Hoc Spec writing virtual workshop this Thurs - May 1st - everyone is welcome - 7pm UK time
- Mark & Mary will get together the bits of the spec done so far together and get a google doc setup so everyone who wishing can then contribute and work on it
- Item 2: Funding Proposals
- Knight News Challenge submission for Round 2 was successfully submitted by Former user (Deleted) and Mark Lizar (Unlicensed), submission available here: https://www.newschallenge.org/challenge/2014/refinement/open-notice-consent-receipts-by-open-notice-initiative-and-ciswg-of-kantara-ieee-isto
- Budget proposal of USD $500,000 reflects that we have one of the biggest projects being proposed
- We are waiting to hear back from the Technology Strategy Board, probably by next week
- Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) and Former user (Deleted) are submitting a proposal to the Open Technology Fund on 1 May
- Relevant European Commission Horizon 2020 deadline is 28 August
- One established consortium has invited us to participate and OKF has agreed to act as an anchor if Open Notice wants to form its own consortium; we have limited industry legitimacy to organise this and seek that level of funding
- Action item: find alternate consortiums to join for this H2020 application

- Item 3: Upcoming Conferences & Project
- Former user (Deleted) highlighted upcoming CMU conference on Choice & Consent; proposition papers are due next week and Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) affirmed that we are seeking to submit a proposal (individual availability not yet confirmed); Former user (Deleted) has requested that the notes be shared through the listserv
- Submission to HotPETS in Amsterdam is done
- Submission to SOUPS is underway, Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) and John Wunderlich will work on this; John Wunderlich may be able to attend this event on behalf of Open Notice
- Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) is working with MIT Media Labs (under Dazzah) & Clear Button Project to map out ecoystem
- MIT Media Labs is hosting a Legal Hackathon on 12-13 June, for which we will have draft specification reader
- Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) will be in Berlin next week to develop connections and set up for Open Knowledge Foundations Hackathon on 12-13 July
- Former user (Deleted) will draft paper for Seattle conference
- Action item: Mark Lizar (Unlicensed) will create Google Doc for papers to be presented and shared with the list
- Item 4: Intellectual Property
- We are looking at incorporating Open Notice so that open software can be developed under ON and specifications can be developed under Kantara CISWG
- Action item: draft document on Intellectual Property and collaboration to share with CISWG
