Process for Cultivating Trust

Jim Kragh

During our last meeting  Sal and I took on the task of setting the stage for a gatekeeper platform discussion knowing that even if we had a small community of eager participants ready to engage, we were doomed without a welcome mat primed with a step by step process to cultivate TRUST.

It is given that ‘trust’ is one of the lowest profiled attributes in the underserved population.  Yes, there may be a bright spot thanks to a nurse, social worker or spiritual leader who extended a helping hand of care to provide meaningful support, life sustaining in some cases.  But outside their limited cadre of service providers, there is no trust, but they do network and most likely are armed with a with smartphone.

As you may know, Sal has been one of the leads of the Kantara ANCR WG (Anchored Notice and Consent Record) workgroup that is focused on enabling individuals to see how information about themselves is being used, when, by whom and for what propose. Its about privacy, enabling a person to control and manage information about themselves; but the first step in building trust and gaining access is a trusted credential.

Let’s discuss:  RIUP goal:  The very first step for a UP user, will be to start building their trust with trustworthy and accepted digital ID (a local credential) with a positive event, that is a beneficial activity, with transparent profile!        Thoughts??
