Discussion

IAF

  • Motion by Richard - The disposition of comments is approved as is and therefore so are the documents.  We ask that the secretariat make them working documents ASAP.
    • Scott Shorter Seconds
    • Comments approved.
  • Richard will change the versions and work with the secretary for publication.

AOB

  • We have an internal pro-forma for people to review and comment on documents.
    • The ISO process requires the commenter to identify themselves but to also propose a solution.
    • Our process does not require the users to identify themselves nor propose a solution.
      • We would like the process changed such that the commenter is required to provide a proposed solution
      • Would also like to strongly encourage identification of the commenter but that is not required.
        • Allows the reviewers / editors to address clarification with the originator.
    • Are 45 days too long?
      • Given the IPR requirements the 45 day window might not be reduced
      • The IAWG could put it out for review by Kantara for two weeks while the IAWG is still working on it for the 45 day public comment period.
        • It would provide for more substantive comments on the doc to come back prior to the 45 day review period.
        • Any member can make that motion.
