      • verbal report given, partial notes sent to list, full report to be provided as meeting output is released
      • particular item of interest out of the notes from the workshop: Verizon spent 3 million euro last year doing market analysis on the question of size/shape of the identity market versus the attribute market. Determination that the attribute market is 3x bigger than the IdP market. Note that there is no standard model for analyzing these markets, so they used the closest model they felt applied: advertising market.

      • New Action item: 20111220-02: Heather to add notes from the workshop breakout session on attributes to the wiki

2. 90-day deliverables
  • Identify gaps in attribute landscape,
    * Mapping attributes to providers where the don’t match (Identify attributes mismatches)?
    ** content difference?
    • name difference
  • Social2SAML gap
    • (Keith) once the protocol wars are done, gateways will no longer be necessary; can we have consistent ways of representing social identity providers in SAML assertions?
    • (Heather) In Japan, the need is for a SAML2Social gateway
    • (Sal) Likely outcome is a need for normalization - how would one take this on? do we want to just create recommendation for one/several working groups? Do we want a white paper? Determine which gaps have no one working on them?
    • (Sal/Heather) meta observation - the closed nature of OIX would mean that not all the natural stakeholders can be at the table
  • New Action item: 20111220-05: Sal to have an attribute gap session at IIW in January and report back
  • New Action item: 20111220-06: Sal to report back on the "13+3" DOD attributes
  • (Heather) Need to have something by mid-February that documents the initial set of gaps, reporting on who is doing what, what is missing, initial recommendation
    • New Action item: 20111220-07: Heather to have initial write up by February 14 call
