1. Intro

2/2 Minutes approved by unanimous consent.

2. Kantara Call to NSTIC

Pete Palmer – discussed the NSTIC opportunity.  Kantara would like to revive the NSTIC discussion group.  Encouraged everyone to signup.

Looking for 5-8 projects, 1.2 – 2 million for first year, with second year option.
Grant dates:  4-5 page due March 7th.  (See NSTIC.com)
Then pick finalist, Thursday March 22nd.  Finalist complete longer proposal (25 pages?).  April 23 deadline,  July 2012 award, Sept started.

Dan Combs: Initial funding is just an expectation, could be larger/smaller.  
Barry – what do they want to see?

Dan Combs:  Focus on NSTIC pilots for national strategy. Reuse of credentials.  Implement NSTIC vision.
Are we going to submit a project?  Yes, need input for group to submit.
Discussion about what our grant could do:
- ensuring patient records follow patients
- better authentication of patients
- many ideas expressed…

Dan Combs:
Discussed NSTIC call yesterday to discuss this project.
Call included a lot of technical folks.  Solution providers.  

Fraser- what should we do?
Barry – we should do Bob Pinero’s ideas..

Bob Pinero:
Initial funding was found for initial efforts.
Logical to go after these funds
- eCitizen should have next idea for this:

Fraser:  Suggested ecitizen help on first draft

Dan Combs:
Said he would need help, can’t do this alone.
Dan will be willing to be the clearinghouse for ideas sent to him for the NSTIC grant proposals.

3. Informed Patient Data Matching Strategy (Rick)

Rick Moore – gave an update on the “Informed Patient Data Matching Strategy”

4. Update on NSTIC grant process

Group agreed to send NSTIC grant ideas to Dan for review in two weeks.
