- Other was NY eHealth Collaborative
- ONC Press Release planned for next week
- NY major work is on certification of EHR and HIE interoperability
- DT major work is Trusted Anchor Bundle, Accreditation Program
- Includes funding for the work
- Will be meeting with ONC and NYeC on policy issues regularly
- DT will have specified goals for accreditation program
- Detailed workplan will be required for ONC
- Provider to Patient is included in Directed Exchange e.g. for Blue Button
- Very positive endorsement of the Direct approach
Direct Trust - Kantara Tiger Team
- The Tiger Team will be folded back into the HIAWG - lots of overlap
- HIAWG charter will be updated soon
- Needs to work on alignment of LOA specifications inside and outside of Health
- Need to work hard on common and standard processes for identity proofing and verification in HealthCare
UMA ties to HIAWG
- Andrew mentioned UMA workgroup - they are looking at various Health scenarios
- MITRE has done much work with UMA
- Adrian Gropper wrote the original Health use case for UMA
Review of HIMSS 2013
- Poor attendance at the Workshop - there was confusion about the listing in the conference book
- Need to ensure that logistics are kept clean for future events
- Bill's session was a discussion session for identity and implications for Healthcare environment
- Was standing room only, lots of discussion
- Strong visibility and good profile for Kantara overall
AOB
CommonWell discussion
- Is a vendor consortium
- Has established Patient Identification as one of their core goals
- Should HIAWG be involved? Yes.
- Patient ID is the most important aspect of CommonWell (basis for the other services)
- Looking at hash of phone number, email address, drivers license swipe as the basis for patient ID scheme
- How can HIAWG help CommonWell?
- There is a common approach in some HIE initiatives to use EMPI probabilistic matching to solve the Patient ID. This is not scalable.
- Other approaches are being tried
- Not clear which approach will work
- Other groups worth watching
- Care Connectivity Consortium - Healthy Way Consortium
- IDESG Healthcare WG
- Is NYeHC doing anything in this area?
- The Marco Foundation has done work on EMPI matching in the past
- Suggestion that an open process would be more appropriate for development in this area
